Topic of the Show:

Tales of Arise Review Impressions

Tales of Arise, the latest JRPG from Bandai Namco, is almost here, and with it comes an excellent combat experience wrapping in a beautiful art style and intriguing story. On this segment, Jay, Kim, and Stadnik break down his thorough review impressions on the game and tell you why this may be a game of the year candidate. We also discuss the game’s accessibility options and whether or not this is a good place for newcomers to jump in.

The Playlist:

Game Informer Staff discuss the games they’re playing.

On the biggest Playlist segment we’ve had in a while, Kim kicks things off with her official review impressions of Life is Strange: True Colors and tells you why protagonist Alex Chen may be one of the best video game characters in recent memory.

Next up, Alex talks about his hands-on time with WarioWare: Get It Together, the micro-game collection that has players solving puzzles with various wacky characters all in a very speedy fashion. Does it hold up to the series legacy or leave a stinky taste in the mouths of Switch players? You’ll have to listen to find out.

Finally, Riana takes us home with another chat about the brilliance of Psychonauts 2. We discuss why it’s been such a revelation for our guest and why she thinks everyone should give it a shot.

What are some of your second chance games? I am playing final fantasy 13 for the second time. Did not like it at launch, but for some reason really enjoy it now. Keep up the swag. – Joodonkadonk
How has your taste in games changed over the years? As I’ve gotten older I’ve come to appreciate shorter, more narrative-focused experiences for example. Also, what games maybe led to that realization of your tastes changing? – Cheesyluigi
